I’ve only read three books by Backman, but I think he’s solidified as one of my favorite authors. All of the books I’ve read by him I’ve loved, and this was no exception. I don’t have children, but I still found this book of essays relatable, touching, and hilarious. It is clear how much Backman loves his family, which is lovely to read. I also truly laughed out loud multiple times, which is hard to do in a book that also touches on some fairly serious topics. That’s what makes Backman such a good writer in my opinion.
