Brb I’m entering my cowboy romance era y’all….
This was such a cute sweet and spicy book! And I can’t believe it was her debut novel!
Emmy is such a sweet baby angel and I related sooooo much to her in the way she thinks and deals with things. As someone who lives with sever ADHD it was genuinely so shocking how perfectly Lyla described it in this book. The sensory issues and sensory overload scenes made me so happy because i feel so seen with my everyday struggles. And it was so nice to see a best friend like teddy who understood Emmy and what her preferences were and what made her more comfortable. I wish I had someone like that.
And then we have Luke the most dreamy swoon worthy cowboy I’ve read. Who knows how to properly take a shot of whiskey might I add….
He’s such a sweetheart and genuinely cares for those around him and the way he took care of Emmy during her panic attacks and called her down warmed my heart. He never did a single bad thing towards Emmy throughout this book which made me soooo happy. He’s such a gem and I’m glad Emmy found her safe person.
