The Paper Swan by Leylah Attar

5.0

This book is so heart-wrenching-ly beautiful. I cried at many points in the book but was redeemed by many others. My heart goes out to these characters, which I felt deep in my soul. Leylah Attar takes creativity to a whole new level, in which is exciting, new, refreshing, and a new twist on "captor-captive" love trope which is either done terribly, or exceedingly well. This book trumps other modern love stories I have read, and am entranced by the plot, the characters, and the flow of the book. Leylah took her time with the characters and gave them a deeper meaning than just characters in a book. She reached out to a part of my soul that I was afraid of letting go. Just as what Damien went through, my entire being was stripped bare, fleshed out, and put back together all in between cover and back.

I highly recommend this book for anyone looking for a new love story with as much enthusiasm as one can have!
