The Remains of the Day

Flaws of characters a main focus:
Yes
this book felt like such a master class in unreliable narration and a central character's flaws enhancing the quality of a story. it's deeply funny and also deeply melancholic in how it deals in memory and regret... not to break out the word proustian but I'm gonna break it out to describe this story. finishing it felt like getting hit by a truck. excellent
