Colin by Grae Bryan

5.0

5 stars - I loved it!

When Colin’s father has a stroke he finds himself rushing home to take care of him. When he finds out that there are twin vampire’s who don’t have a mate, he offers himself up as a roommate and an easy meal. Colin will do whatever it takes to continue to be a part of the vampire community.

This was a wonderful ending to this series. Colin has been a part of the vampire community for a while and it's about time he finally found the vampires for him. This was a surprisingly emotional but also really sweet and sexy relationship between Dane, Fox and Colin. We get all three POVs in this which was great to get to know these guys better and see their feelings grow as they got to know each other.

Colin is searching for a place to belong and with Fox and Dane he finds it. He quickly realizes with them he finds sexual satisfaction for the first time as well, which is an extremely surprising and a bit overwhelming prospect at first since he is graysexual. I really connected with Colin over his struggle to figure out that he is on the asexual spectrum and still wants sex, but feels disappointed over the lack of overwhelming pleasure that is frequently talked about. As a fellow ace his character really spoke to me and made me feel seen. Also  I really liked how Fox and Dane handled Colin discussing his sexuality with them and that they never made him feel bad about not wanting sex. It made me love them so much.

Fox and Dane were twin vampires who are bonded to each other. They never expected to find someone they both were attracted to, even though they both wanted that, and Colin’s arrival turned their life upside down. I really loved these two. They were total frat boys sometimes but also extremely sweet and caring. I loved how they took care of Colin and were obsessed with getting him to stay. While these two may be identical, they both had completely different personalities and I loved getting to know them each.

This book mainly focused on the relationship between Dane, Fox and Colin but we do get a hunt for a rogue vampire. While I do like that this situation gets a bit tense for a few minutes towards the end, I liked that overall this relatively low angst book and focused mainly on the relationship. Another great addition in this vampire hunt is that we get the reappearance of some of the other couples, which was just a nice surprise.

Overall, this was a wonderful ending to the series. I really enjoyed Colin, Dane, and Fox’s story and while I am sad that this is the end of the series, it was a great ending. I am looking forward to reading Bryan’s next series which is apparently going to be focused on Alexi’s family.

TW: Colin's father had a stroke and is recovering from it; kidnapping and child abduction; reference to abusive parents, bullying, homelessness, and a toxic ex.
