Gripping and emotive read. It is indeed 'super-readable' as declared on the cover and will have wide appeal: it's sharply contemporary, realistic and will strike a chord with many teens. I loved Mikey and found it easy to sink into his mindset (even though I am not and have never been a teenage boy). I'll be recommending this to lots of students, including those not usually keen on reading - but it is by no means only for such potential readers.
