It wanders pretty aimlessly for the first 3/4 of the book and the last 1/4 is a jumble of nonsense. It is a perfect example of why writers opt out of second person.
I'm not sure what Muir was trying to do, but whatever it was wasn't accomplished. I really enjoyed the first book, and, while I was hesitant about Harrow as a protagonist, I was interested to see what happened next. This was both tedious and disappointing.
It could have worked if the first 3/4 had been reduced to 1/4 and the last expanded, but the second person passages still got to be a bit much.
