Crossing Abby Road
by Ophelia London
Short and sweet!
Crossing Abby Road is a retelling of the beginning of book 1 in the series, [b:Abby Road|15705832|Abby Road|Ophelia London|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1426686160s/15705832.jpg|21368882], from Todd's POV. It takes place in a single day--the day Abby and Todd meet--and therefore is fairly brief. I haven't read book 1--yet ;)--but since it starts at beginning of the story (well, Todd's beginning, anyway) that wasn't a problem.
I adored Todd. He was a Marine-sniper-turned-surf-shop-owner with a close family (complete with 2 nosy sisters!) and a recently-ended engagement. In fact, he's just heard that his ex is going to marry someone else as the story begins, though he assures both of his sisters--via a conference call--that he's fine with it.
I gather Todd's not big on showing emotion--an "unfeeling cyborg" is how his former fiancee described him--but seeing it all from his side of things, you appreciate how much he actually feels. He's got quite a sense of humor, which we only really see by glimpsing his thoughts.
Oh, and he'd also let the odd Italian phrase slip out from time to time, which was absolutely adorable.
Since the entire story takes place on the day they meet, the ending of Crossing Abby Road is really more of a beginning, and not exactly an HEA...guess I'm going to have to read book 1 to get the whole story.
I see what you did there, Ophelia London. Very sneaky. ;)

“The impulse pumping through my body was to take ahold of her again and ease her head onto my chest. Well no, my actual impulse was to tear off her purple bra with my teeth and prove she was plenty Bond girl for me. But I sensed that might be a slight overkill…”See what I mean?
