“I can go back to being First Gentleman, then?” - “I should be so lucky.”

….

This one had so many moments that had me weak at the knees. And the vibe of this town, I would love to escape and have a moment to breathe. I can’t wait for the next - I really got attached to all characters.

….

“He smelled damned good. Like, summer flowers and fresh hay good. If you’d asked me how I thought citified corporate type would smell, it wouldn’t have been like home.” // “His laugh filled my little house with something it had been missing. A warmth and ease that made me want to settle in like a fox in a burrow.” // “Be gentle with me…” // “Did a good job of shutting off that never-ending chatter of yours.” // “I was stupid for him. Completely and utterly in thrall. Lust was a stronger power than I’d ever imagined or experienced before.” // “I was beginning to think this shower was the key to my future happiness.” // “…and it had occurred to me I would have rather been there in that vehicle on the wide, empty highway than anywhere else on earth.” // “A beautiful, broke, brazen cowboy from the corner of nowhere. A golden boy, majestic and true.” // “Maybe loving someone is the easiest thing in the world once you stop fighting it.” …
