The Hellbound Heart by Clive Barker

3.0

Welp, I finally did it. Finally read Clive Barker.
I’ll admit the concepts and the ending were terror-ific but the novella overall didn’t jive with me. I saw that he wanted to find a balance between pain and pleasure for people. The idea was solid.

I read Barker’s The Thief of Always when I was a kid, but I can’t really remember any of its details. I purchased it recently as an adult and will have to revisit. I also own the first three volumes of Books of Blood and will have to try them out too. Not giving up on him just yet. This one just wasn’t for me. 2.5 stars
