informative lighthearted

I was disappointed. There were a few interesting tidbits, but a lot of the linguistic discussion went over my head because I've never studied Greek, aside from being able to laboriously puzzle out the alphabet and knowing a few words. Nevertheless, I would have welcomed more about the language, because I felt a lot of space, maybe even more than half, was taken up by jokey language (apparently aimed at the author's teen students), repetition, irrelevant personal anecdotes, and much moaning about how difficult Greek is to learn, even impossible. None of which provides any "epic reasons to love Greek".
