Initial thoughts
The ending is everything! Very enjoyable read, world building was a tad heavy/complicated at some points but overall a good book and intro to the series.

This book follows Cas on her journey to find medicine for her mentor. From the first page you are thrown into action and it never seems to stop. There are lots of books in this series and so this book seems to be an introduction to alot of characters, information and plot lines that are going to be explored more in the next few books.

I did really really enjoy this book and I had a good time reading it, I don’t know why it's not a five star read, there's just something missing. What that is, I cannot tell you. I am very excited to continue the series and hopefully find out more.

Spoiler review
Spoiler I knew it!! From the battle that ended in the woods I had a nagging feeling that he was the wolf. There is so much more at play than just her having something to do with the sickness and I cannot wait to read more to see what that is exactly.

Very very enjoyable to read, the romance was a very good subplot in this book and written very well. Cas and Elandors sarcasm and communication had me giggling and smiling like a Cheshire cat.

I absolutely think that Cas has much more to do with the sun goddess, what that is I do not know.

Because an ancient evil is stirring in the shadows.

And their empire will not survive its full unleashing.
