A really stand out book. A remote village on a fictional moor tells its tale. The town history is interwoven through the accounts of characters from the past into the future, giving a rounded vision. There's a strong eco time to it all, by looking at timeframes beyond the here and now, and how today's actions affect tomorrow and are based on yesterday.
There's some real humour in here, some genuine dark moments, and a real love of the craft of creating a village and its history.
