The Bookbinder by Pip Williams

4 ⭐️ I loved the overall message of this book: privilege is messy and ever-shifting, and war trauma, for lack of a better way of putting it, sucks so incredibly hard. The relationship between Peggy and Maude was my favorite part of the story. I thought the romance plot line was slightly below average, and the story as a whole suffered from pacing issues. I wanted a whole book about the last quarter of the story, and the middle dragged on a bit. While I didn’t enjoy this one as much as DoLW, it was still very much a worthwhile read.
