The Fault in Our Stars by John Green
5.0

I finished this book at work during my lunch break. I had to concentrate really hard so no one would hear me cry my eyes out or notice the insane amount of tissues I was going through.

I loved Hazel. She was dry and sarcastic and jaded without being totally nihilistic about her situation which was an incredible balance. I have nowhere near an inkling of what it must be like to have cancer, or be a teenager who has cancer, but Hazel's personality and what she was going through jumped off of the page and felt more like I actually knew her than just a character in a book.

The love story between Hazel and Augustus is precious without being saccharine and feels like a first love without going over the top. It felt like a secret the reader was being let in on and will stick with you for a long time to come.

I can't recommend this book enough.
