Mr. Romance by Louisa Masters
3.25

This was sweet and romantic.

Charlie is the definition of a golden retriever. But he was extremely oblivious and clueless. He has such a good heart that sometimes I had the urge to shake him. Just a tiny bit. Even though he could be frustrating, he was caring, sweet, and thoughtful.

He glances up at me and smiles, a little uncertainly. Fuck that. Nobody gets to make him feel insecure, not even him.

His qualities and the way he cared for his friends often made people believe his overly sweet gestures meant he was romantically interested in them. That led to a messy situation where 3 people thought they were dating him. And apparently, it had happened in the past too.

Liam was a lovely character. He was absolutely sweet, caring, and a hopeless romantic who helped people plan the perfect date, even though he hadn’t found someone for himself yet. When one of his friends brought Charlie to him so he could learn how to be friends without making people think he’s dating them, they started to become super close.

They both cared about each other a lot, and as a hopeless romantic myself, I genuinely loved the sweet little moments between them.

However, I’d be lying if I said Charlie didn’t frustrate me. He was so gentle and avoided conflict so much that when the whole straight guy/sugar daddy situation happenedーeven though Liam was treated rudely first and just gave back the same energyーit still irritated me how Charlie reacted. Not that he said anything outright, but still.

Anyway, it wasn’t my favorite of the series, but it was still a cute story.
