from the very beginning, i was sucked in! the writing is very fast paced and easily digestible, and the world building was pretty straight forward and easy to understand!
the tension between the two main characters, elara and enzo, was so good from the moment they meet! in the beginning, enzo is tasked with training elara to fight and i love me a good training scene!! when their connection starts forming and they soften to each other, THAT’S when i became obsessed with them. their chemistry and their banter was so good it had be giggling and kicking my feet. they are both so badass. everything between them just felt so ROMANTIC. ugh.
the plot was also very interesting!! the stars and gods and prophecies were all very unique and felt like something i have never read before, even though i have indeed read fantasy novels with those aspects to them. i am just very impressed with this author’s writing i think!!! the ending was so tragic but also beautiful. it adds another deeper layer to elara and enzo. no spoilers, but the plot twists and the ending had my jaw in the floor. i was verbally reacting to everything that was happening. my mind felt boggled. i couldn’t get enough!
i definitely recommend! book 2 is being rereleased in november 2025 i believe! brb while i go scour the internet for the indie version bc i cannot wait that long.
