As a kid I loved Enid Blyton. I remember wanting to go to boarding school for the longest time after reading The Mallory Towers. Unfortunately I never read The Faraway Tree series as a kid. Reading The Enchanted Wood as an adult wasn't the greatest experience. While it was cute in the beginning, as the story progressed I began finding it too long and repetitive. I ended up binge reading the last chapters which is never a good sign.
