Thoughts Alight Poetry: A Doorway to a Secret Garden by Elmrabti Kawtar is a collection of poems full of thoughts alighted with hope, love, sadness, inspiration, meditation and ambition. This collection is divided into four parts namely Love thoughts, hope thoughts, self-thoughts and meditation thoughts.

The book is short and can be read in single seating but it is advisable to read it slowly by absorbing each and every word. The use of metaphoric language was so beautifully done and it stimulates the reader to paint the picture in his imagination with the poet has adorned with her words.

Though the book is divided into 4 sections, a major chunk is occupied by the first section: love thoughts and I felt a certain repetition in this section. The section of Hope Thoughts was empowering and based on values like kindness and perseverance it is my favourite from the book.

I like the way in which the poet has ended the book with a poem dedicated to readers of the book. Overall it was a pleasant read with a mesmerizing writing style. I would recommend this book to people who are new to poetry genre.
