The Fury of the Gods by John Gwynne
5.0

A fantastic conclusion to a fantastic series!
I loved returning to the world of Vigriư and this book was just 500 pages of epic fantasy at its finest. The action sequences were just so good, particularly the final battle sequences. I really felt like I was a part of it. It was also just really satisfying to see all 3 of our main groups and protagonists fighting together at last!
There was very little character development in regards to 2/3 of the main protagonists but I loved Orka and Varg anyway! Orka in particular is just such a brilliant character and I really appreciated Varg's overall journey: he's come so far over the course of the whole trilogy! Elvar did get quite a lot of development here and I really liked it- even if I did want to reach through the pages and smack her early on in the book.
The plot was fast paced and full of twists and turns! One particular character death really surprised me and it was executed so well- it really upped the stakes! I wish some of the events had had a little more set up (those who've read this probably know which event in particular I'm talking about), but they were still great to read about.
The ending also felt really fitting. I almost wish it had been drawn out a bit more so I could feel more of the emotions!
The Bloodsworn Saga is definitely one of my favourite series. I'd seriously reccommend it to anyone with a love for epic fantasy looking for something that feels classic but also moves away from some of the less likeable aspects of the genre. Also, as a sidenote, I got to meet John at an event for this book and he was honestly one of the nicest people I've met- really genuine. The experience has made me love this series even more!
