Blood Type

This relationship was so toxic!!! The vampire love interest was a complete asshole from day one, and constantly dismissed the MC’s opinions, thoughts, and desires. Even after they got together, this didn’t really change. And he kept her in the dark about everything and then would get mad when she was confused and didn’t do what he asked (because she didn’t know what was going on!!!). Honestly, she wasn’t really much better. She seemed to always find herself in harms way because she was so naive and thoughtless. He’d tell her to be careful, not trust people, and stay with her bodyguard for protection, and then she’d gallivant off somewhere alone and end up in trouble. It started to get really frustrating to read after the third time it happened and she didn’t learn anything.
I really hated this but I kept on with it because I wanted a resolution to all the drama and bad communication. Surprise- this is the first book in a series and unlike most romances, it’s not actually a companion series. It ended on a cliffhanger 😡, so I never got the resolution I wanted, and now if I want to figure out what happened to the characters, I have to suffer through another book. That’s my own fault I guess for not looking into the series more, but I didn’t want to read the synopsis for Book 3 before I started this one because I was worried about spoilers.
It says a lot about how much I disliked this that the audiobook was only 5ish hours (I listen on 2x speed) and it still took me an entire week to trudge through. I can usually listen to 2 audiobooks of that length in one day if I don’t have other plans.
