Ladder of Years by Anne Tyler

4.0

This book started off strong. I really felt for Delia and could understand why she felt she just had to walk away. I found her family to be so frustrating and self centred. I was just waiting for them to get their come comeuppance. When she returns for the wedding and, the family just try to walk all over her again, I felt even more frustrated. I was willing Delia to stand up for herself, to put them all in their place and, make them understand why she had left. But that didn't happen and she just abandoned the new life she had made for herself, without a care for the consequences or for the new friends she was leaving behind.
