I didn't hate this one, but I also did not exactly enjoy it.
I did not enjoy the art style, I get that it is a personal preference, but I could not get behind the art style chosen for this graphic novel.
Beyond the art, I feel that the messages that were being portrayed would have been better portrayed in a written short story collection. I do not think the short graphic novels did the stories any justice.
I actually think this would have been a beautiful written short story collection because we could have gotten more background and nuance. Unfortunately, with this being a graphic novel, we miss a lot of the introspection and "explanation" for lack of a better word. This makes the actions and scenarios seem like common place and like they are okay. I do not believe that is what Flowers was trying to say, but the style chosen does not lend itself to be expanded upon.
I would give this authors work another read, but this one was not for me.
