I'm not sure what I feel about this story. On one hand I had a great time reading, it put me in a better mood. On the other hand sometimes the decisions and subject matter were horrifying but presented as silly. Not a fan of the implied necessity of romance in a girl's life. I was constantly confused by her father. There was plenty of fat shaming, making fun of mental illness, and mocking people who wear wigs. Something about ogres is extremely Wrong. Centaurs as household pets is a disturbing image. The scene with the old man gave me whiplash and tossed me out a window. I wanted to love this, everyone I know grew up on this book, but I just can't recommend it honestly.
