Ruin and Rising by Leigh Bardugo

4.0

I'm going to be honest the first like 20% of the book was boring but the rest of it was pure perfection. I absolutely loved every second of it. The plot twist that came with the amplifier, the history behind the darkling's family, what happened with Nikolai. It was all so freaking good. And I'm going to be honest I'm probably one of those few people that actually liked Mal and I liked the ending. I felt like it was what needed to be done. The world needed balance and that's exactly what it got in the end. I'm just a little bit disappointed with the final battle between the darkling and Alina. I just expected more of a physical fight in the end but it was okay I guess. Overall though this was a great and to this trilogy and I definitely recommend reading this even though the pace can be a bit challenging at times it was totally worth it.
