Fingers Crossed: How Music Saved Me From Success
by Miki Berenyi
informative
reflective
medium-paced
Lush was one of the many bands I listened to growing up, so was interested by this when it became available on the Pigeonhole.
This was a well written and often heartfelt memoir. The parts detailing the abuse Miki experienced during her (difficult) childhood were a hard read, Miki shows kindness and empathy to her parents by forgiving them for this. The parts that were about her time in Lush were fascinating and a great insight to what goes on "behind the scenes" as well as being a trip down memory lane.
Highly recommended reading (especially for those of us who were in our teens and twenty's during the 90's).
With thanks to the author and the Pigeonhole for the opportunity.
