The story took a complete 180° from the first book, introducing us to new characters, a freshly blooming love story and sides of Grey and Jake we haven't seen before. I really enjoyed every plot-twist, as well as the tendency of Brigid Kemmerer to save a jaw-dropping reveal for the last several pages.
One thing i did not enjoy, however, was the fact that I was in a way forced to stop liking and supporting one of the characters, which is very sad and soul-crushing. Perhaps the story could've taken a slightly different turn or we could've been exposed to more reasons why he was making the decisions he made.
Still, very excited to start the third and final installment of the series and see how everything unfolds. ✨
