Great characters and world building. The beginning and end were great but I found the middle dragged a bit . Interesting hard magic system but would have loved a little more explanation. All and all a good fantasy read. Also refreshing to have a fantasy world based in African history and mythology rather than European/Tolkienesque worlds.
