This book is incredibly dark for it's intended age range abut I really enjoyed re-reading it as an adult and I think it handles the dark themes in an interesting way.

A toxic/abusive/controlling sibling dynamic is the main theme of this book. The father in the book is misogynistic towards his wife and daughter. He is also a police officer. He also makes comments with homophobic undertones towards his son.
