When Devils Sing by Xan Kaur

adventurous dark mysterious tense medium-paced
i have waited a whole year to read this title after interning with its imprint and seeing the final touches of editorial production and marketing. I knew immediately by the copy that this was gonna be something special and well crafted.

Xan has such a way with words. I adored her prose and exposition across the page. very evocative and enticing. it both reflects the tone and setting so well from the first page until the very last. This story holds so many layers to it, and the southern modern Gothic feel is a steady pulse throughout. No way would I assume this is an authors debut.

Overall, so so well done and I'm proud to have interned on this even in the tiniest of ways
