Celestial Academy: Essence
by Olivia Pharos
This was a fresh and interesting new take on the end of days. The afterworld is a scary place. Instead of the Apocalypse extinguishing mankind; a new world order has taken place with Angels running the show and keeping humans in servitude.
Wen lives in complete hell on earth. A slave to a sadistic demon; she endures unimaginable horrors to find a way to get her and her h=best friend out of the Horror show life their living. With a lucrative business selling Angel Essence she quickly gets on the Angels radar and as punishment conscripted to attend Celestial Academy.
This was a fun read because Wen already had a negative opinion of the Angels, but her loathing was cemented when she met her captor and trainer Godric was as deadly as he was handsome. Wen and Godric are like oil and water. The nonstop jabs, insults quickly reveal a simmering passion that neither is strong enough to fight but they must endure in order to get Wen ready for what's
to come.
With both the Angels and Demons fighting over who side she belongs on; Wen is proving to be more powerful and mysterious than Godric and the other angels imagined. The only question remains is will Wen's power prove to be helpful or dangerous and for which side?
