Summary
Avery is an ordinary girl ... a little down-on-her-luck after her mom died, but she's got a plan. Until everything changes. A billionaire she doesn't know names her as his primary heir while leaving his family basically nothing. He also leaves her and his four grandsons clues. Can they solve the puzzle before someone else gets hurt? And what does Avery have to do with any of it?

My Thoughts
The overall atmosphere of this book felt very much like the movie Knives Out, but instead of solving a murder, the mystery is a puzzle left behind by the deceased wealthy person. To be honest, the puzzle didn't hold my attention too well and the payout wasn't overly satisfying to me. Just kind of 🤷🏼‍♀️. The attraction/flirting between Avery and the brothers was also kind of meh. What kept me reading was the dynamic between the brother's and their unique idiosyncrasies. I already own book 2, so I'll probably keep reading that far, but if more elements don't hold my attention in the sequel, I'll probably be done after that.

Content
Characters use words that sound like swear words (aka "foxing") to get around actually swearing. A few kisses are exchanged, and obvious attraction is present. Characters reveal a history of fake heterosexual dating meant to hide a homosexual relationship.
