I've read a fair few spy novels by John Le Carré but this was my first by Len Deighton. This was similar to some of Le Carré's in that it was very slow moving until the end when the action picks up. I was certainly a little confused in the middle because there's a lot of misdirection and the plot's quite dense but I enjoyed it. I'm also pleased to have finally read it because I'm trying to read the books I've owned for ages and this has been sitting on my shelf for about four years.
