Broken Harbor by Catherine Cowles
4.0
I absolutely fell in love with Sutton and Luca in ππ¦ππͺπ€π’π΅π¦ ππ΄π€π’π±π¦, so I was really excited to get to their story.
And seeing Luca (the mini adrenaline junky, himself π) FINALLY get to go to Hockey Camp was like a little dream come trueβ¦for me. π€£ His excitement and energy really jumps out from the pages/earbuds, and I was so excited for himβ¦especially when his coach turned out to be Cope, the foster sibling whoβs spent most of the series away with his hockey team in Seattle.
Both MCs have their baggage, but with Cope being instantly obsessed with little Lucaβs mom, you know heβs gonna put in the work to open those doors up for the both of them. But he doesnβt just swoop in to help her because of his obsession, he swoops in because she needs that help, and he just WANTS to help. π₯°
A lot of forced proximity goodness. A lot of sweet moments with Luca. And then, of course, a climactic finale I never see coming. π±
Audiobook notes: Connor Crais and Erin Mallon were both great! π
