Crossed
by Emily McIntire
This was dark 😅 I know Emily warned us, but OH MY GOD. So, first and foremost, please check triggers if you need them.
But also, this book was SO FUCKING GOOD! I have no words for how enthralled I became with this book. I read the damn thing in little more than twenty-four hours and I regret not a damn thing about it.
Cade and Amaya? Soulmates. Those two were so inevitable from the very beginning and Emily truly proves that their souls call to one another in a such a way that you can't help but root for them and hurt as badly as them as the events of this book take place.
And the way this story ties itself together was absolutely mind-boggling. Every seemingly unimportant detail came back around in the end and I was shocked and in awe reading it all unfold.
I loved this one. It was slow burn, trauma bonding, a sprinkle of found family with Quin thrown in to the mix and I got so excited during the bonus epilogue to see Quin so happy...and with a crush?! Is that important? I'm not getting excited but it felt kind of important.
My only complaint is that Dalia didn't make it to the end. I loved her and I was so heartbroken when we learned of her demise but I'm so happy that Parker got what was coming to him. Also, I loved unhinged Amaya and how supportive Cade is of her monsters. And yes, I hear how crazy that sounds but I don't care 😅 I live for my serial killer romances.
This may take the top spot of the series for me but I don't know if I'm ready to take that honor away from Sara and Tristan yet...maybe they can just share the top spot...anyway, this was amazing and I will patiently wait for Emily to write the next one while she continues to fight like the badass she is 💜
