I feel like it had a good premise, but it's the characters that kind of ruined it for me. At least in the beginning. And there were some stuff that didn't make sense to me like how some vampires were able to travel when supposedly they can't leave the place they originally turned as vampires. That was never explained. Honestly wouldn't have minded if it was a duology just for more explanations, but it's fine. I did enjoy the plot regardless and the characters did grow on me. Just it took a bit of time for me to get into it or pick it up again.
