Greywaren by Maggie Stiefvater

3.0

Stiefvater has fantastic prose as always, but the story itself left me wanting. I wish we had gotten more Declan and Matthew scenes and more Ronan and Adam scenes because I just didn’t really care about the new characters introduced to this series, like Carmen and even Jordan/Hennessy. If this series was focused solely on the Lynch family and their complicated relationships to each other, then it would have been a five star read because those scenes were my favorites. I could maybe even cope with the lack of Adam in the story if that had been the case. But the plot being mostly about the moderators and the zeds and the apocalypse and Bryde just didn’t leave a lasting impression on me. The Greywaren was good, but I had been expecting it to be great. And I really had hoped there would be more Adam Parrish. I’m pretty disappointed overall as a huge TRC fan.
