This a satirical novella using farm animals and their revolt against the farmer and subsequent animal rule to picture events leading up to the Bolshevik Revolution and to criticize the Stalin era.
I'm sure this book was a big deal back in the 40s but I wasn't impressed. I liked the book but with details of the Stalin era much more accessible now, the book seemed obvious.
