I certainly enjoyed this book but it didnt hit me as hard as one of her other books (Yours, truly) did. In this book, the main character Alexis, a paramedic doctor from a wealthy family with a rich history in medicine and legacy of doctors meets Daniel, who is carrying his own family legacy of being part of a community in a small town and running his family business, while still trying to pursue his dreams of being a carpentar. The book follows the struggles that they go through as they develop feelings for each other but their starkly different lives makes it difficult for them to think about a future together.

When i first read Abby's work, i immediately loved it so much and i still continue to think about the characters from that book and their story, but with this one, it feels like i'm going to forget what happened after a few months. It's probably because i didnt find the main characters in this book as lovable and genuine as Brianna and Jacob from Yours Truly. Nevertheless, i am still willing to try Jimenez's other works because i do like her writing style and i always love a book with good character development. The conflicts that Alexis and Daniel went through in their personal lives as their relationship developed were written so well and the aspects of mental and emotional abuse was eye-opening because i didnt realise how manipulative people can get in relationships and how the way you deal with these kind of people in life is rooted in your early life experiences within your family.

One more commendable aspect of this book was how the writer tackled the 'from different worlds trope'- simply put, this is a book that plays on the 'small town, big city' romance trope that we see often, however, it was executed a little differently so that it doesnt resemble the many holiday hallmark films out there. The plot stays true to the title, both Daniel and Alexis become a part of each other's worlds rather than one person having an epiphany about their life and giving it all up to join the one they love.
