I Hope They Serve Beer in Hell by Tucker Max

2.0

Sigh... I work with mainly men and we have a little book club- as a result I have to read many 'boy themed' books (emphasis on the word 'boy'). This would be one of them. The opinion that I have formed of Tucker Max is this: He is a reasonably intelligent, priviledged, little brat, lacking any sort of moral compass. Don't get me wrong I'm not squeamish and I've heard it all before, I am surprised at very little. I have no problem with raunchy jokes or stories- there were a few humorous parts to this book and the younger men in my group absolutely adored it. The more mature guys in my group saw it for what it was- the immature ramblings of a jackwagon, has-been 'cool' guy, however- I must add that they too thought there were funny parts. The younger guys see him as a type of leader of the new 'Rat Pack'. It's unfortunate, and I truly hope that they don't decide to emulate him- they'll wind up with a terrible STI, at best and worst case scenario they'll wind up dead from either alcohol poisoning or some type of alcohol fueled misadventure. I would only recommend this book for mature individuals that don't feel the need to emulate anyone, are comfortable in their own skin, have a strong moral compass in place, are not squeamish, and enjoy incredibly raunchy humour.
