A revved-up punch with thrilling effects that ended up being a feign.

I really loved the structure of the book. That's what makes 1/3 of a really good book. The other two parts are the story and pacing, which didn't work out well for me.

Not saying the story was bad, but it was just... ok... the social issues, the friend's union, psyche and abuse, all were well pointed but didn't point rightly enough to match the thrill the whole journey set up.

Besides the story, the pacing irked me at times. It was like a bullet train on drugs, sometimes slowing down to fend for the recovery of the insane speed the filler thrills engorged the readers with.

Oh, I have no major complaints about the third thing. It's about the similes used. I want to point out since it was not misused maddeningly that it was bearable, but at times, subtly, it disquieted my reading temperament.
