The Familiar, Volume 5: Redwood by Mark Z. Danielewski

4.0

Closing up the first season of this series, the fifth volume is a change of pace from the previous instalments. Almost everything in this book happens extremely slowly and told from multiple perspectives, or it is retold as something that has already happened.
There are also significantly more pages with mostly air. I don't know if parts have been cut, or if it was planned this way, but it makes this volume a bit light on substance.
Otherwise it furthers the plot and mysteries as it should. I'm looking forward to reading more.
