I did not love this. I had a hard time connecting to the main character, Fern, and weirdly liked her mom better than her. I wish we got more chapters from her mothers diary. I think Will was selfish and that Fern needed to grow up a bit, stand up for herself. I do not think I will be rereading this, but I have one more Carley Fortune book and I hope it’s better than this. I loved ESA and OGS, so hopefully this next one is more like those.
