While the novel presents an interesting and thought-provoking dystopian society, the execution falls short.

The society depicted in the novel feels like a caricature of our own, with its emphasis on conformity and the use of soma as a means of escape from reality reminiscent of our own internet and cellphone addictions. However, this point was heavily driven to death and was way too one dimensional.

Furthermore, the plot felt stagnant for much of the novel, with not enough forward movement to keep the reader engaged.

It wasn't until the introduction of the Savage in the last few chapters that the plot finally picked up. However, even with this new development, it was still easy to get lost while reading due to the lack of depth in the characters and the society they inhabited.
