Cartoonish but fun. I see why I didn’t like it all those years ago— child labor, exploitation of workers have never sat well with me.
Also I want to point out that there’s some potential normalized LBGTQ representation with Sir and “his partner Charles.” I understand the need for books where the relationships are a focus but I also appreciate books where they’re represented with the same “of course it’s like this” as straight relationships. I can’t remember the word for that.
