Afterlove by Tanya Byrne

4.0

After reading One Last Stop, I was in the mood for some more sapphic romances and Afterlove really quenched that thirst for me.
A really well written romance focusing on Poppy and Ash as we see their connection blossom until one fateful night where Ash is unfortunately killed.
Ultimately this is a story which focuses on grief and loss with a heavy focus on romance. Our 2 main leads were very well written and this was a romance I believed.
Considering how prevalent Ash’s family were in the first part, I do wish we saw more focus on their grief as I feel Byrne really moved on from that too quickly.

I love the fact this is YA, it’s nice to see a book about queerness being pitched to a younger demographic!

Really recommend!
