Bad Boy Blues by Saffron A. Kent

5.0

Strong females are my favorite! Cleopatra Paige is a whole vibe!

Cleo lives in a town run by the Prince family, and she is from the wrong side of the tracks. After her parents are killed, she takes a job as a maid in the Prince mansion. The son of the Princes made her life hell in school, but he's gone and hasn't been around in years. Then he shows back up. Cleo doesn't take shit from him and lets him know real quick she's not the same girl she was in high school. But, the more they are around each other, the more they realize they have a lot in common and their hatred for one another turns out to be their lust for one another. They both find out things about the other that helps them understand each other's actions in the past and in the present. They help one another mold the other's future.

I love how this book addresses bullying, and how being bullied can culminate into something deeper seeded even when that part of your life is over and you're finally away from your bullies. I'm a sucker for a spicy book that actually has a fantastic plot.

Zach and Blue, as he affectionately calls her, are so sweet to one another once they get over the bumps in their tumultuous beginnings. He wasn't always sweet to her and vice versa. Their fire towards one another is so hot and I couldn't get enough. I would give it a 4/5 on the spice scale.

Blue sticks to her guns when he acts like an ass and leaves him high and dry and makes him work for her trust again. The character growth for both of them is outstanding. The author doesn't make it easy on the reader, and it turn it makes it hard to put the book down. This relationship actually feels organic. There isn't mutual hatred one minute then they're in love with one another leaving you wonder how it happened. You can see the growth and change developing as it happens.

I would highly recommend this book!
