Alice and Gabriel don't know each other. But they wake up handcuffed to each other in a bench in Central Park.
Alice lives in Paris and doesn't remember what happened last night, after going out with her friends. How did she end up in New York? Why is her blouse stained with blood? Who is this stranger and why is she handcuffed to him?
This mystery novel was really gripping. It's very suspenseful and there are also some funny and sad parts. It made me cry, so I guess that tells you a lot about how much this book captivated me. The plot, the characters, the setting, the tone, the atmosphere, everything was to my liking.
I read this book in French, since Musso originally wrote it in French but I'm sure any other translation will be enjoyable.
One of the things that I love the most about books are big plot twists. And I can tell you this one did not disappoint me in that sense. It definitely surprised me.
I don't think I can tell you much more without spoiling it for you, so I hope this will be enough to convince you to read it.
I can't wait to read more of Musso. Definitely recommend this one to all mystery lovers.
