As I was listening to this one, I often found myself wondering, “Am I enjoying this?” And the answer was always, “Kinda?” I enjoyed the premise, the world, and the characters; I did even get teary eyed at one point. But I think ultimately, I found that I just wasn’t ever fully pulled in, and I do think it may have been a bit too long to keep my interest.
It’s a bit of a “monster” romance with the MMC being part of an immortal race with antlers, tails, and long tongues (👀); a race that also eats people for energy.
The FMC is a feisty and strong character with rainbow hair, whose journey I enjoyed.
The burn is slow, but simmering in the background, once it becomes clear he isn’t going to be eating her…like that. 😜)
Overall, I can see why people are loving this, it’s just not one I will be obsessing over, and at this point, I don’t think I will be continuing on with this series.
Audiobook notes: The narrator did a great job, giving a bit of an accent to the MMC.
