Act Your Age, Eve Brown by Talia Hibbert

3.0

Reading Talia’s books in a go, one after another made me see how much her writings had grown and how much potential that she has. I just wished she would be focusing more into developing the plots than making the spicy scenes as graphic as it gets. And finally, we got a good plot twist and great sense of humour in this 3rd book.

The characters in her books mainly represent Black women, but the side characters aka their boyfriends are representing their own races, ethnicity, religion, skin colour or with disabilities. In this one, Jacob, Eve’s boyfriend, is an autistic white guy who has been struggling with his childhood memories and trying his best to run his B&B business the best he can. Its no ordinary B&B because it caters guests with different kinds of special needs, including sensory issues which experienced by autistic people.

Overall, I love the character developments. The plots isn’t particularly interesting, but their family dynamics never failed to warm my heart.
